A New Beginning

Mark 16:15 – 18 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

This is a new year, a new day, and we can make a new start which can give us a new chance to do what we are called to do for the Lord in these last days. We have all heard this before but there is a new and stronger urgency of just how important it is for us to be about our Father’s business. Jesus spoke these same words to his own parents at the age of seven and if He is expected to do this then we are too. God calls all people of all ages to help spread the word of His coming.

The Love of God compels us to do what we never thought we could do and go to heights we never thought we could reach. Precious is the Name of Jesus. Let us not pretend to be something that we’re not. It’s time to quit playing church and start having church. Our brothers and sisters have spoken many times in the past year from the pulpit to come to the house of God a bit early so that you can find a place to pray, not gossip, pray for the service that we are about to enter, for the brothers and sisters that are out sick for Satan is using everything of this world to keep us out of the House of God and from getting the strength to keep pushing forward.

Even though we have heard that He is coming back all of our lives and there are many that still believe He is only a myth because we the children are not doing what we should, to show them, who God, our father, is to us and can be the same for them. We, the children of God, need to stand up and be counted. He is coming and it is up to us to show the world that He loves them too.

Even though Satan lost all his authority on this earth the day Jesus rose from the dead, for the past 2,000 years he’s been running around as a spiritual outlaw - continuing to kill, steal from, and destroy any and all who will let him. But, we know, he’s not going to do that much longer. There’s coming a day when he’s going to be put out of business completely. There’s coming a day when the evil he’s done here on earth will be put totally underfoot by the power of God.

Conflict is inevitable, but combat is optional, Use your God-given creative energy to solve conflict before it escalates into combat. He said He would fight our battles, so when things come your way hold your head up high, stand your ground, and begin to pray. For He is a God of Peace and if we will let Him do it, then we will have the victory. Most people know that’s true. They’ve shouted and rejoiced over it - but they haven’t really understood how it’s going to happen. They haven’t really realized that they are the foot that’s going to trample down the works of the devil!

Don’t think that God always has goose bumps and happy feelings toward His people. For there was a time when He wondered if He should have even created this thing called the human race; but it’s also the same God who assures us that “you are my people and I will be your God.” It’s not based on feelings or perfection; it’s based on a “Covenant of Love.” Jesus is the head of the church; you and I are the feet. We are the ones who are going to take His authority and power and stomp on sin and sickness and every other demonic thing in this earth. We are the ones that God is going to use, as it says in Acts 2:35, to make Jesus’ enemies His footstool.

I don’t think we can even begin to comprehend how much God really Loves us. I mean He gave us Jesus and allowed Him to walk among us. He did wonders and miracles. The word tells us as early as the age of seven He began trying to show us just how much He Loves us. He died a very painful and agonizing death at a very young age. He went to Hell and took the keys of death from Satan. He then arose from the grave and not only did He promise to come back for us, He also promised to send us a comforter, which is the Holy Ghost. When you have the Holy Ghost you have God walking with you always, and there are even times in your life that He carries you.

That’s what Jesus was telling us when he said, “Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature...lay hands on the sick and...cast out devils” (Mark 16:15-18). He was saying, “Go ye and be my foot.” He was saying, “All power and authority has been given unto me, both in heaven and in earth. Therefore, you take it and use it to put the devil under foot and out of business.”

But instead of obeying Him, we’ve waited around wondering when God was going to do something about this mess here on earth. We’ve sat around wondering why it’s taking so long for Jesus to come back. We’re the reason He’s taking so long! Jesus is waiting on you and me. He’s waiting on us to step out on His power, put the devil in his place, and win the world. He’s waiting on us to drop our silly doctrinal differences and get busy doing what God said we would do.

The Bible also says that one can put a thousand to flight and two can put ten thousand to flight. Every time we get together, we increase our strength astronomically. If we would just get together and figure out who we are, if we would just realize we are the feet of Jesus, we could kick Satan out of earth’s affairs with ease.

Do you want to hasten Jesus’ return? Then quit sitting around starring at the clouds! Start stomping around in the spirit. Start putting the works of the serpent under your feet and we can wrap this thing up and go home to glory real soon! We all have loved ones waiting at the gate for us, so let’s get off the bench and get on the move. The three small words In the beginning...holds a lot of information and it can change everything. The Lord chose these words to mark the map for us to follow. Today is the beginning of the rest of our lives. Get off the bench and get in the fight, it’s time to get ready to go home!

Listen to the Holy Ghost, Our Father, rather than the voices of man. Jesus says you can’t listen to man and still be a servant of God. Those who listen and follow God will be received into heaven by the pierced hands of the one who knows the freedom of giving up what you cannot own in order to receive what no one can take from you --- eternal life with Jesus, our savior. In Habakkuk 2:2 says, “And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.” The vision I see is remarkable, I want to be ready, let’s stomp the devil as we shout for glory and move forward!
